Here is where we will organize our thoughts and processes for the Group Presentation.
Remember to use comment to respond to this topic so we won't have to dig around for communications, it will all be in one place under the title of this post.
It is also labeled "organization" at the bottom of the page.

ReplyDeleteHey Everyone,
I thought we might want to touch base about our group presentation for class. Our topic is: "Management techniques for maximizing student learning when students use computers in the computer lab or classroom."
I started looking for some journal articles that go with our topic. I was surprised to find out that a lot of articles talking specifically about classroom management in computer labs or with computers are from the 1980's. So in theory we could choose one of those articles and then talk about whether it is still relevant now. One of the discussion questions could also be: Describe your classroom management system in the computer lab or classroom while computers are in use.
Here are some articles to take a look at:

I think since Marty is going to have surgery, we should let him pick an article and develop some questions for it. We can edit it as we develop the project, but that way he can give input now.
ReplyDeleteGuys,
ReplyDeleteI've read all the articles and believe the ones that most pertain to our subject are the I-Minds article and, although it is quite dated, the "Apple Classrooms of tomorrow".
The first question I've come up with sort of uses both articles.
1. Does your school use complementary systems and classroom management techniques as described in the assigned articles? If so, please describe how these enhance the learning atmosphere in your classroom. If not, describe how you would use them to enhance the lessons in your classroom.
All,
ReplyDeleteHere is another good website that may fit even better for subject matter. Please take a look and, if ok, I will design another question for it.

Guys,
ReplyDeleteI've posted this in the study group conference. Not getting much feedback. We need to give our assignment to the instructor soon. Here is the second question.
Question for the above site (and using a start from Kym).
2. Please go to the Internet4classrooms website at http://www.internet4classrooms.com/classroom_organization.htm#one. Describe your classroom management system in the computer lab or classroom while computers are in use. Using the Internet4classrooms site, describe how you could enhance the learning environment by bettering your classroom computer setup.
Guys,
ReplyDeleteI've posted a word doc which contains most of what is needed for this week's assignment. It just needs a brief description. Please peruse and comment.

Going off of the IMINDS article: a good question could be:
ReplyDelete"What are some ways you have created an environment in which you are serving and catering to students' unique needs and behaviors?"
