Special Needs

Sorry about the delay, I couldn't add any posts until today. I currently teach at a school where there are at least 6 special needs students in each class. I have 33 students and 6 have special needs. These special needs students deserve a right to excel in the classroom. Having technology to aide in this is key. Many students are visual and kinestic learners. My special needs students love using medias that read them the stories and have them interact with the text. Some of my students have a hard time reading and understanding grade level or two grades below level, so having a media where they can be read to and test their comprehension works well.
Technology, used properly, in the classroom can aide in students learning. In order for students to be properly aided by the technology both teacher and students need to understand the technology. Without the proper understanding of the technology being used, students are just wasting time. When students have an objective in mind, students are more focused and therefore more informed of what is expected.
